DAV Flight Team's 2011 Airshow Season

This weekend marks the fifth airshow of the season for the DAV Flight Team. The 2011 DAV Airshow Public Outreach tour began in March, taking the Team to Keesler Air Force Base Angels Over the Bay, The Florida International Air Show, Sun 'n Fun and JB Charleston Air Expo. The fifteen-show tour will continue through the spring with visits to MCAS Beaufort Air Show, N'awlins Air Show and Air Power Over Hampton Roads at Langley Air Force Base.  With additional shows from the Northeast to the Midwest, including a full week at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, the DAV Flight Team will reach hundreds of thousands of people this year with DAV's message of support and volunteerism for veterans.

Now in its ninth season, the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Airshow Public Outreach program uses a B-25 twin-engine bomber along with a fully-interactive display to raise awareness and reach veterans and their families at airshows throughout the country. In addition, DAV volunteers are on hand at each show to answer questions and provide information about DAV programs and benefits.

Disabled American Veterans is a 1.2 million member, non-profit organization. Founded more than 80 years ago, DAV is dedicated to a single purpose: building better lives for America's disabled veterans and their families. For more information about DAV go to dav.org or find the DAV Flight Team on Facebook.
